To tell you the truth I just posted the details about the Scot Trad Awards because I'd seen them listed. I'm sure pop type songs make their way into the general UK Folk Awards too. In fact they do. This song written by Andy Patridge won the best original song in the 2009 BBC Folk Awards as performed by Jim Moray. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbzefMQt2o0 The song though was originally a single for Patridge's band XTC about 25 years earlier! So a pop song from 1984 wins a Folk Award 25 years after it was originally released??
