This might be worth investigating as a supplementary program to Audacity...

AudioGate 4

It's a high definition player [now with recording capability]
Which is distributed for owners of Korg Hi Def audio interfaces.
But the 'Lite' unregistered version is available free for anyone.

"AudioGate 4 Lite is now ready for use. If you later purchase a KORG 1-bit product, it comes complete with an AudioGate 4 license.
To activate AudioGate 4 simply click the menu button and select [Help] – [Activation] to begin the activation process.

Limitations in the lite version
・ User support is not available from KORG Inc., or its regional distributors.
・ The Output Sample Rate is limited to 48 kHz and 44.1 kHz. ・ Real time Conversion is limited to Lite Load only.
・ Export and Burn Disc functions are not available.
"

It looks like it offers a 64 bit option, which I think Audacity still doesn't,
and my educated guess is this might work well with the cheap Behringer UCA202 USB audio interface.

Eg, stereo recordings from Vinyl record players & cassettes.

I've not played with it yet - but it's Korg, so bound to be at least pretty good.

At this moment I'm not exactly sure what this Lite version restriction
"Export and Burn Disc functions are not available" means,
though I'd hazard another guess you should be able to save recordings as WAV files ???

I have actually just aquired a Korg DS-DAC-100m [qualifying for registration to full version] in the sales.
Which is how I just found out about this software.
But doubt if I'll have much time before the new year to install and try it out.
