I first met Roy in 1972 when he appeared at Durham City Folk Club when it was in the Lord Seaham. My finest memory was of him leading the 300 or so audience at the 1972 Durham City Folk Festival in the finest example of chorus singing it has been my pleasure to enjoy. Thank you Roy and my sympathy goes to Elaine.
