I found it interesting that, in the two Youtube videos of the Darkies/Mummers Day parades, one of the songs was indeed 'Uncle Ned', complete with the N-word, but the other was the Union Army tune 'Marching through Georgia'. If both of these are representative of the Padstow repertoire, has anyone besides me noted an incongruity here? By the bye, I don't recall anybody objecting to Peter Bellamy singing Rudyard Kipling, complete with the N***** word...
