Hello Acme, I'll delurk if you like.

I'm hoping to list the house for sale in about 3 months. This in itself has given me a shot of urgency that I guess I needed long before now. So I've declared a 100 day plan in effect, and every morning I post on the bulletin board a tag with a big fat number (the days left). Below that is/are one or more half-sheet(s) of colorful paper with the main thing to be done that day, also big and bold. Sort of an army style 'Orders of the Day'. Anywhere from 1-4 major objectives; DECLUTTER or SCAN or ERRANDS or BILLS, etc. Just helps me focus on the main thing. It sounds stupid but it has been helpful for keeping on track.

This week I finally got some bulky things moving; got the car out of the driveway, for someone else to hopefully sell, since horsetrading is not my forte. Also a couple pieces of furniture and a couple of instruments went to good homes. And eBaying, which has taken a ridiculous amount of time and grief to figure out, has finally started generating some sales, although not much help with the bulky stuff. Still appallingly large amounts of things to get out of here.

Having fun figuring out how to use things up, in hopes of emptying the medicine cabinet, chest freezer, etc. Who knew commercial meatballs and homemade onion soup from the freezer were a match made in heaven? Who knew that half-bar of bitter chocolate would be perfect for a half-batch of an old family recipe I haven't tasted in 40 years? Lots of interesting things happen when you set out to clear out.
