Read and learn from Reg- there were MANY MANT clubs who welcomed older Irish singers (note how I didn't call them 'traditional' as that just causes trouble on Mudcat). It's not a competition, but there was life outside London even then. Margaret Barry, Michael Gorman, Joe Heaney Dominic Behan and Paddy Tunney and other icons of the music all played folk clubs in NE England in the early sixties- Marsden Inn, the Bridge, Hexham, Birtley, Shotley Bridge, Felling and Sunderland among them. But this has nowt to do with the release of this amount of material from a man who commands great respect with anyone with an ear to read and learn- well done Reg- we owe you a huge debt..
