I will miss Rob terribly; he was been part of the NW music scene for more than 30 years, contributing in so many ways.

To quote several of Rob's friends:

"Rob Folsom, friend and mentor to so many in the Pacific Northwest music world, passed away June 1st. I am both heartbroken and astonished -- Rob was so full of life and energy that one just naturally thought he would be here forever. He was truly a renaissance man: literature professor, poet, singer, songwriter, guitarist, hunter, driver of fast cars, and veteran of the US Navy. And most memorably, the best sound man for acoustic music concerts that I've ever known. I never encountered Rob without a smile, a song, a cheery laugh, and a story. I know he'll carry those with him on this new journey."
Hank Cramer

"Rob was one of the stalwart members of Victory Music, and one of the most talented sound engineers around. When he was on the board, performers could relax, knowing they were in the secure hands of a guy who knew what you needed and really cared about how you felt on stage."
Stanislove

"Sorry to let you know that Rob Folsom, musician and sound genius died in his sleep. Rob just did sound for the San Juan Festival on Memorial Weekend. He was my longtime friend for thirty years supporting and sharing folk music, his love of poetry, and his dogged determination to make sound set-ups perfect for acoustic musicians. Rob was one of the five that helped establish Ancient Victorys. I will never by able to attend an open mike without thinking of him, his big flowing warmth, and care for the folks around him. We are all better for having known Rob. Our love and support go out to his partner Kathye Long and all his family."
