There was quite a bit of Sheila and other well known tradition bearers featured although it seemed fairly obvious they didn't approve of Moffat either. The scenery was beautiful and, as I said, the film was well produced. However, in other circumstances, it's theme and conclusion would probably have not been as sympathetic to the folk tradition. After all, althugh he did appear to "come round", he still went ahead with his project anyway. I suggest everyone should see the film anyway. Not everyone will come to the same view as me I'm sure especially those who have had little involvement or previous music of traditional music. However, having known The Stewarts and the others for so many years, I couldn't help but feel angry and hurt on their behalf at being used in this way. Yes, attempts were also made to portray Moffat as a bit of a buffon and he, at least, managed to portray a "self deprecating" personality throughout the film. As I said though, I'm sure this "balancing factor" was influenced by the turn of events and wasn't the original plan.
