It's time for choir practice, but I can't leave without saying something about Wednesday night's speech from Ted Cruz. His speech was standard conservative doctrine. It was actually a very good speech, although I don't accept his doctrine. Cruz spoke in a gentlemanly manner about Trump, but he failed to endorse Trump - and the entire crowd booed him for that. This morning (Thursday), Cruz said he couldn't endorse Trump because Trump had insulted Cruz's wife and accused Cruz's father of participating in the JFK assassination. Christie and others called Cruz "selfish" and worse for failing to honor his pledge to endorse the party nominee, but I have to say I have a grudging admiration for Cruz because of this. What Trump said about the Cruz family, absolved Cruz of any obligation to endorse Trump. -Joe-
