We were still buying 78's until they went out in 1960. (The last commercial 78 made in England was Brenda Lee's "Sweet Nuthin's") We had an electric turntable that we had to plug into the back of the wireless. My father's father sill had a windup until he died in 1956 whereas my mother's parents had had an electric radiogram since about 1932.
