It is obviously expensive to put on a week of musical events in Whitby. And a week-long ticket does offer wonderful value. The festive atmosphere in Whitby comes from the Folk Week itself. But people who enjoy the street and fringe events can take advantage of the Folk Week without contributing towards any of the costs. By contributing to the collections, they will help to ensure the viability of future occasions. A contribution greater than a handful of small change would be really appreciated.
