There is a risk of confusion here in that there is a thing called 'Yahoo Groups' which has been around for ages and provides for sharing photos, a calendar, a forum etc. for a subscribed group of users. Then there is sending an email to a list of adresses which any email client or webmail should be able to do. Yahoo has an agreement with Mozilla in the US whereby it is the default search engine - this helps fund Mozilla which is non-profit. (You can still set another search engine as default.) I'm pretty sure that Yahoo no longer supporting a version of IE for webmail is nothing to do with that agreement - though they may promote Firefox - but because IE does not support whatever newer HTML or script features it needs. Basically, MS only support IE11 and Edge.
