But the snap, crackle and pop can be removed digitally. The 'warmth' of vinyl can be transferred to digital at high bit rates with WAV or FLAC. However as I said avoid the scam vinyls in supermarkets which are just audio compressed recordings straight from CDs. Yes - reel-reel tape at 7 1/2 inches per seconds is great - but pre-recorded tapes are hard to find - and there are none for Brit. folk.
