We sang this in grade school, and the name Meredith Willson (composer of The Music Man) was on it. Did he write the whole song? Just the tune? Just the second verse? I don't know. The second verse about the lark was slightly different from that given above. I hear the lark, the lark hears me singing a song with a memory. Please let the lark that sings to me, sing to the one I love. It's a nice tune for mountain dulcimer.
