Nipper was adopted as an emblem of the Victor Talking Machine company, later RCA Victor. Corporate headquarters was in Camden, New Jersey. Camden is a city that has fallen on especially hard times; RCA left the city years ago. The only thing remaining of the physical plant is a tower with a huge, lovely stained glass window on each of its four sides. The windows show Nipper listening to the gramaphone. I see this every day from the train window.
