I remember being in the Colonnade Bar with a friend, next to the Theatre Royal in Brighton, late one evening many years ago. Andrew Sachs came in and stood next to us, smiled and nodded politely while waiting for a drink. My friend grinned at him and said "Que?" - but he just shook his head with a rueful smile and said "No, no, good evening", which put paid to that unnecessary remark in a nice way. No doubt he was as fed up with hearing it as are other actors who have to live with catchwords or catchphrases from their dramatic lives. We chatted for about half an hour or so after that - and he seemed an all-round good bloke. RIP Andrew S.
