When I were a lad, about 1960, there was an upsurge of interest the Paraguayan harp in the UK, and I can remember a Paraguayan band coming to a nearby village for the fete. I doubt that they had ever been near Paraguay really, but it was a revelation, we didn't get much in the way of folk tunes from non-English speaking regions then. They played, I am sure "Pajaro Campana" and "La Llegada". The second, by Enrique Samaniego, was very familiar, as it was the theme music for David Attenborough's "Zoo Quest in Paraguay", which I am convinced was the main reason for the interest in Paraguayan music.
