"She is the belle of Dublin City"(should be Belfast) No "should" about it. Virtually the same song has been found associated with just about every city in the British Isles. There's an Edinburgh version in Ritchie's collections from the 1950s. I doubt if anybody has the faintest idea where it started out, though we can probably rule out Cork and Peterborough because they don't fit metrically.
