Noreen - I like morris - I don't participate - but I respect it... However a simple google of, say for example, "b p folk music"[you know where to put the 'n'] stirs up so many links of various degrees of truth and reality, that morris can not remain so oblivious to how the trad dance art relates to modern urban citizens. The rights or wrongs become secondary to the general 'uninformed' public perception of what black face morris looks like and might be. This is the cultural context that morris is judged within and by, however unjustly, and puts the onus on morris to present & communicate it's case more thoughtfully and sensitively.... ..or not.. who am I to impose my will on anyone...???? Morris survives or withers by it's own efforts...
