Will do. I'm aware it's a highly endangered, but not quite extinct, species.

I ask because I know a few singers matching this description in San Diego who do not sing in public (or at least don't get out much anymore), or who perform other genres in public but not ballads. So there could be others like them that I might never discover without asking around.    I didn't turn any up with queries to "folk music" clubs and mailing lists in the area, but it occurred to me that mudcat cuts a different cross section.
