I wish there was a way to regenerate the damage suffered by my copper beech tree -- 'wind fractures' are twisting round the trunk, heading down to the roots, deep scars in the bark -- and sadly after 150 years it is no longer safe. It is the most beautiful copper beech in this area and has been part of my life since I came here in 1969. I am devastated at the impending loss -- don't think they'll even allow one more cycle of leaf growth then Autumn nuts -- - so sad, it will just be a memory. Poor tree.
