Mirthy hapday (a little late).

A former editor of mine was out making his lazy beds when two Mormons came by. He told them he wasn't interested in what they were selling, but jokingly asked if they'd like to take a hand. Their eyes brightened. "Later!" they said - and sure enough, an hour or so later the two of them turned up in overalls with spades in hand. They'd been away from their farm home on the missions for months, and were only dying to get their hands in the soil again. After that they used to come and work in the garden with him every week, and have tea and scones afterwards.
