Last week saw ex-chancellor and MP for Tatton get the job as editor of the Evening Standard, the London paper he applied to for the job and owned by a Russian oligarch. This job is going to take him away from his constituency and will be very demanding, and the consensus his that he's either 1) underestimated what a newspaper editor actually does, or b) Doesn't give a tinker's cuss about his constituents (Tatton is 200 miles and a world away from London, although it has some posh towns and villages). Other tory MPs are annoyed because Osbourne has drawn attention to this subject, as they attempt to make a few bob on the side to the detriment of their constituents. Isn't about time our MPs were just MP's and not moonlighting when they should be working for us, which is what we pay them for?
