Senoufou, why don't you give it a try - keeping the dog with you during the day. You might find it's good for both of you. If not, then not. One thing is for sure - a border collie locked up 8-10 hours a day alone is going to turn into a problem dog for its owners and all the neighbors. My own neighbor (age 75) had a mild stroke and became depressed. His wife went out and bought him a fox terrier. That dog turned his life around.
