Not a song - but a tune (and a half)! Hot Dog - Sidney Torch Recorded on the organ at the Regal Cinema, marble Arch, London (the largest cinema organ in Europe), some time in the mid 1930's. This instrument had a very extensive (almost excessive) range of silent picture effects, including a set of tuned bird whistles, which can be heard at about 1'07". The organ was removed into storage in Cornwall about 1964, and the Cinema demolished. The instrument survives, and is currently undergoing restoration. I heard some years ago that Leslie Clair was a nom-de-plume for Sidney Torch.
