Buddhism describes one lotus closing as another opens suggesting intelligence spread over time an space. There is no doubt this universe has an abundance of sugars, amino acids, carbon, organic matter, water and everything short of proteins, so far, to jump start life formation. Actual reasons for this may exist or not. It is easier to say 'it is what it is'.
