You miss my point. I'm not talking about the decision to hold the referendum. I'm talking about the decision to present it as undemocratic to hold another referendum to give people a chance to change their minds if they wished, or to confirm their decision. The fact that the margin of difference was relatively narrow, and that it was dwarfed by the number of people who had not voted, would have justified that, especially in face of the fact that this was a vote with major constitutional impact, depriving all British citizens of significant rights.
