Reminds me of a time way back when I was working in the record industry. I was trying to get a folk/rock album some airplay on a Perth Radio station. I knew it was a longshot as they played mainly top 40 and ex top 40, but advertised themselves as "Adult Contemporary".
I played a particular track for the "Musical Director" and mentioned that the female vocal had a standout voice, "Very much like Mary Black".
To which he enthusiastically replied, "I've Heard of Her! She's not bad, you know".

Needless to say we didn't get aiplay, but he did say he'd accept the album if we'd like to leave it with him (ha ha) I told him no worries $28.oo.
