When I was young, I often stayed at with my Aunt and Uncle at weekends. The BBC used to have a Saturday morning programme called 'Marching and Waltzing'. On one occasion they played 'The National Emblem' march. I was very surprised when my Uncle started to sing in tune, 'Have you ever caught your bollocks in a rat trap ?' He had been 'transported' back to The Somme battlefield in 1916 and explained that they were the words which the infantry sang while marching up to the front. He was in the Norfolk Regiment.
