Violent racists often have criminal backgrounds, move in criminal milieus and accordingly know how to use and get the same sort of weapons used by un-ideological criminals. It's always been that way. That Twitter search link just reported an attack in Newcastle. No suggestion of racist motivation, but every such attack anywhere makes it more likely that the local kippers will get ideas.
