I found a recording, so let's see if I can verify or correct the lyrics above. I changed a few things, but it looks like the lyrics above are a pretty good transcription.

GOD'S GIFT TO WOMEN
(Rory Block)

1. I don't want no handsome man 'cause he won't treat me right.
Lord, always flirtin' an' cheatin', stayin' out half the night.
Lord, everybody wants him but that don't mean it's good.
I'd rather have a plain-lookin' man who'll love me like he should.

CHORUS:
God's gift to women, that's what they think they are:
God's gift to women, just like a movie star.
Everybody wants him, but that don't mean it's good.
I'd rather have a plain-lookin' man who'll love me like he should.

2. I said a plain man likes his lovin', but a handsome man he makes you beg.
He wants to see you crawlin', kneelin' by his leg.
He always keeps you waitin' because he don't have much to give.
No, he thinks you should be grateful for having him today.

3. You know a plain man will be faithful. He's into bein' true.
He don't need no fancy car. He just wants to make love to you.
He won't win no beauty contest, but that's just not what counts.
You need lots of tender lovin' by the pound and not the ounce.

I first came across the music of Rory Block and Marcia Ball at about the same time in the early 1990s. I really enjoy them both. If you're not familiar with them, take a listen.
