Microsoft isn't "getting rid" of Paint. The word is "deprecate." Future OS updates will come with Paint 3D in its stead but MS-Paint will still be available for free in the MS Store. Same deal as Movie Maker pretty much. I've used Excel and LibreOffice Calc for simple one-line and ladder diagrams and floor plans. Seems to work for the customer.
