Pfr, too late. I've been a Whovian since I started watching in 1979, although it's occasionally been hard to find it on American TV. There were some versions of the Doctor that I mostly missed, but every one of them between Baker and Eccleston was "meh". My major concern about a female Doctor is whether they can make her eccentric enough. Writers, IMO, have problems with respectfully whacky female characters. I can't think of any, not that they don't exist, but I'm not familiar with them. They can be serious and smart, or goofy and dumb. I WANT them to prove me wrong.
