Barry There are lots of Rosies, Judies (and, perhaps) Bertas in songs. I've just never heard Eloise in this sort of context.Its hardly biblical - which you might have expected, given the rest of the song. Assuming it was pronounced as three syllables, I would have expected Mar-y Anne or somesuch. I suppose its just that I expect the folk process to be reductionist. regards
