The closed one that used to be nearest to the campsite was the very welcoming Crown and Anchor. The Elephant is still there. A good number of years ago I arranged with Bishop Gundulf Morris to congregate there for a sing - the Saturday I think. I asked the landlord and he said yea, so I went and started - and NO other singers turned up so I sang the whole night unamplified - but the landlord did freely keep my throat lubricated! If there was a capo left at the GI on Sweeps weekend Karen will probably still have it behind the bar - she is excellent like that. I suggest you ring the pub and ask - there is a shelf behind the house guitars on which lost musical stuff, tuners, capos, pick boxes, music stands, guitar stands, etc etc get put. I'm afraid I won't have time to collect it for you today - on my way to Croydon to get beautiful inamorata, then back here to hook up caravan, then to Faversham. I believe young James Kerry is doing something on the campsite tonight, but it might be a ceilidh and tune session.
