Jim: Our last Prime Minister paid respects his to the head of the Saudi Dynasty while his family's regime was administering 10000 lashes to a journalist who had spoken out-of-turn What should he have done? Refused to deal with Saudi Arabia, possibly refused to deal with any of the Oil states, after all, who needs oil? The journalist (as with any traveller) should be aware of the laws & restrictions in any country they visit. If they are not prepared to live within those laws (no matter how harsh)then they can choose not to visit. We expect visitors to our country to abide by our laws, can we do less when we are the visitors?
