Interestingly, as I type I notice I am wearing a t shirt with " I have too many guitars Said no one, ever." For gigging, one in standard tuning, one in open D and / or DADGAD and a baritone (usually A modal tuning.) But from a choice of less than 20, to be fair. I started collecting and am whittling it down now as I think they should be played not stored. Friends who started playing later in life and are still learning tend to buy lots of them and flatter me by admiring my playing. I appreciate their kind comments but point out that thirty years with one guitar helps get you to a decent level. A different neck each time you pick one up won't have you stealing gigs from Martin Simpson any time soon. I was sound engineer for Wizz Jones earlier this year at a gig. His Epiphone is the same one for over fifty years and his "distinctive" sound is courtesy of a sticky back cheap mic pickup he bought in 1964....It wasn't difficult to soundcheck him....
