Unfortunately there are many traddies who can't hold a tune, or have any idea of tempo or dynamics thus making for often very tedious nights. There are of course also lots of wonderful singers but they are in the minority in my experience Nobody is saying clubs shouldn't support traditional folk it's just that it is only one element. Songs being written in the folk idiom today have as much right to be heard and usually more relevance to life today
