Back in the 70s, Terry Yarnell used to play a giant mandolin-type instrument which he called a 'Loud' - I remember it having a big sound box, and maybe six double strings.

It had a marvellous 'big' sound, like a 12-string guitar, but more wooden, more mandolin-ish.

Having I got the name wrong? Or am I spelling it wrongly? Can't find any reference to it anywhere on the www!
