For double glazing, make an appointment and then don't be there. When they ring back, the following day, apologise and say you were called away. Make another appointment and don't be there, swear blind they got the time wrong. They soon get the message. The other way, of course, is to have all the companies reps visit at the same time and be there to price them off against each other. That's fun Mike
