Bat Goddess November Press Room [NH] Shanty Sing (16) RE: November Press Room [NH] Shanty Sing 20 Nov 18

Here goes -- probably having to be done in several parts.

The crew was me, Bruce MacIntyre, Pete Hale, Don Hale (from south of Boston), Dianne, Jeri, Gail Finn (alas, with laryngitis), Pete & Audi Souza with their daughter Zinnia up from Gloucester, Charlie Ipcar & Judy Barrows from north of Bath, ME, Gina & Bill Dunlap from Connecticut, Bill & Carol from Boston, Mike Modern, Justine, Alan Eaton, Paul Delnero...and listening we had Gail D. & her sister Janice, W.B., and Dave Johnson, plus the people at the bar and in the front of the room, including a couple with two daughters close to Zinnia's age. It was great seeing two sets of parents showing their children the joys of singing and making friends in pubs.

Today, too, was the ceremonial passing of Tom's 1965 Guild D35NT to Pete Hale. I am so pleased that the guitar is staying "in the family". And I know Pete is pleased to have curatorship not only because it's a good guitar, but he appreciates that it was TOM HALL's (Mudcat's Curmudgeon) guitar.

Bear with me -- I may have left songs out. I completely forgot about writing things down until we were four or five songs in.

What we sang --
1. Paddy Doyle's Boots - Linn (I SHOULD have sung "Fathom the Bowl" to launch the first session -- as I did in 2015 after a two month hiatus until the sprinkler/alarm system was installed.)
2. Haul Away for Rosie - Bruce M.
3. White Squall - Pete Hale
4. The Rosabella - Dianne
5. Shipmates - Don Hale
6. Roll the Cotton Down - Charlie Ipcar
7. Cannery Shed - Linn
8. Good Bye, My Love, Good Bye - Gina
9. The Mermaid - Pete Hale
10. Leave Her, Johnny, Leave Her - Don Hale
To be continued...
