I looked up this song, hoping for fond memories. My father used to sing this song to me, (Maybe? hazy memories) and I've always thought it was sweet. I have the 45, and all I remember were the first words, "I love the sea, I love the navy, I love biscuits," etc. from the Guy Mitchell version. No record player anymore, and my father died in the 90s. So I clicked here for information... Now that I read the other lyrics, I am a little horrified. I knew Oscar Brand was ... bawdy... but this is definitely _not_ sweet. shudder I think I'll still keep the sweet memory though.
