The first time I flew 1968(well, to be accurate the second, it was the return leg) we burst a tyre on takeoff which jammed the landing gear. After many shenanigans we landed back in UK (from US) on a carpet of foam, followed by fire engines at an angle to favour the good tyre and no fire, no need for forced evacuation. Thanks, pilot. Then I was in A&E with undiagnosed sepsis a couple of years ago with all my vital signs dropping until they put me on intravenous antibiotics. |
