Joe,
I think it is much more nuanced than that. *Some* people who are not white are "conservative" in that they think you should persecute LGBT folks and prevent women from making their own birth control decisions. That "family values" thing. And some would vote based on that to the exclusion of real bread and butter issues.

Defense? You mean that people of color like wars? Or maybe they just like military spending? Like the kind where non-whites sign up for the military with the promise of citizenship, and then run into the Republican buzz saw of xenophobia? You mean like that Latino and other minority support?

But there is also the people of color support that profoundly feels the abuse of workers lower on the ladder, and the general abuse by the power structure. An whole lot of the recent surge in union membership has been some of these people. Oh, and they are most likely to be the victims of voter suppression by Republicans, including Trump.

Well, we certainly can speculate. Personally, I would like to see Iowa and New Hampshire be "decertified" as the first-crack-at-it field reducers. And I would like to see a much shorter campaign season. I don't think IA and NH do best by the rest of the country. And I don't think our elongated campaigns give us the best possible outcomes.

Saul
