What a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics! Thanks for posting the lyrics, translations, and the stories. I also grew up with the A Very Merry Christmas album from Grant's (red cover w Christmnas tree with artists' faces in the Christmas tree balls). Brings back so many memories of love, joy, and family. To me, it's a song, so I grant it artistic license. Enjoy it for what it is, and may it bring all of us closer to the love of God and love for each other regardless of our beliefs/backgrounds.
