Joe G- don't be so daft- how do you know whether I've heard it or not- what arrogance. whether it was written by AN Englishman or a Russian, it is on a very Irish subject & based on an Irish state of mind much better comprehended by an Irishman- although I find the song to be a typically English view of a culture where English people see only the surface & will never understand the Irish. IMHO Knightly's 'social comment' songs are annoying and pretentious.
