Sorry...got cut off ! It fascinates me that we were all quite happy to accept lyrics that were quite clearly ridiculous and also that,back in the days before the internet, my first suspicions that the rest of the world wasn't exactly like Teddington probably came from these songs. I loved the lessons but I remember one awful,maudlin song about a dying cowboy really disturbed me. I just remember the lines:
