Because Sonny Boy was hugely popular and influential (e.g. harmonica became much more popular in blues music because of him), Rice Miller chose to be a local and eventually -- after Sonny Boy's death at a young age -- international imposter who didn't even bother to sound like Sonny Boy and lied that he was the "original" Sonny Boy when Sonny Boy came up.
