Jim - if that's the reference in the footnote p378, he says it's a tune from P. W. Joyce's Old Irish Folk-Music. Roud says there's a text from Barry in JAF 18 (1905) under the title Strike up you brave and lusty gallants, with music sound of drum though the index gives no source. Mick
