Good news for all of those that enjoy old time music. Later this month 20th I believe, Dr Malcolm Smith of the tri-state area of South West Virginia, Western North Carolina and East Tennessee has his work on Albert Hash published. Albert was an important man in keeping the traditions of that musically rich area alive. He founded The Whitetop Mountain Band which still performs regulary. He built beautiful fiddles and passed that skill onto his daughter Audrey Hash Ham who continued passing it down. He encouraged world famous guitar builder Wayne Henderson from the beginning and with his brother-in-law Thornton Spencer, Thornton's wife Emily and their children Martha and Kilby carried on teaching young folks of the area the music and traditon. Something to look forward to reading in the current days of isolation. Publishers are McFarland who previously did a great job on Grayson & Whitter
